More Canning
Well yesterday my aunt furnished me with enough green beans and cucumbers to make 19 quarts of green beans and 12 quarts of dill pickles. I am so excited to try the dills, as I am experimenting with the best spices. I missed a girls shopping trip today, because of spending so much time on my feet canning yesterday, just didn't feel like shopping all day.

Changes
Wow, have there been a lot of changes since my last post! We found out in February that baby #2 was due in November, we closed on our acreage just days later on March 1, I quit my job effective June 30, 2010, and we moved in to our new house the second week of May. Holy buckets, we have been through a lot! We have since found out that we are expecting baby girl #2, but haven't decided on a name. Grace thinks her name should be Suzie, but I would rather keep looking. :) I am loving being at home with Grace, we have been very busy this summer. I think the reality of being a stay at home mom will sink in more when my family and friends go back to school in August. Yesterday I was busy canning green beans and peaches for this winter and will update more on that later! Until now, I hear punky waking up!

Saturday
I love Saturday's! Especially those when there isn't much going on. This morning we had pancakes and little smokies for breakfast, just finished chili and ham sandwiches for lunch. Rob is already asleep on the couch with Grace soon to follow by the way it looks.
I think we did well this week with packing our lunches for work, rather than eating out. By Monday we will be able to see how we did with our new budget for the month of January.
After our few snow days work quickly returned to the normal routine. At times I love my job and the work that I am doing, but there are times when I long to be home with Grace! I think of all of the things I am missing out on and how much of a slower pace my life would be without having to rush to be out the door by 7:15 every morning.
Would part-time work be better for me? If I stayed home full-time would I miss the interaction with the adults?

First post
Well...Here I go my first post on my blog. I thought this would be a great way to journal what goes on during my day and the ups and downs that come along with life. :) I am currently a working mom that is employed full time with a school district as a director of special education. This is my second year at this job. I am coming off of 2 snow days in a room and am truly yearning to be a stay at home mom. I can't even imagine the things I miss out on when I am at work. My 2 year old has done such funny things that I want to write down or take pictures of in the last 2 days. How many things like this do I miss each day? We just purchased a new house, actually made the offer on Jan. 1, 2010. A new year with new changes! My new mission...become frugal and savvy with spending, stick to a monthly budget, and get my house/life organized and priorities straight. I am going to do this by creating a home management guide. By doing this maybe I will be able to stay home with Grace more and put my career on the back burner for a little while.
